CAPT day #3

Period 1:
-review electromagnet open-ended CAPT type question
-review yeast experiment/PPT from last year (to review for CAPT)

Periods 2 and 4:
-begin reviewing the Yeast experiment/PPT (from Frosh year to review for the CAPT test) in the sci drive and watch short yeast video on youtube What do Yeast Like to Eat? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4mxqGF9JZHI
-review CAPT type open-ended questions (given last week when I was out)
Period 7:
-finish electromagnet lab and discuss open-ended electromagnet question

CAPT day 1: Interdisciplinary Writing
Science CAPT is not until NEXT WEEK (Thurs 3/17 and Fri 3/18). Science review guide can be found in this post.

After CAPT we will be on a 2hr delay schedule.

-Hand out Electricity Study Guide
-Complete reading and questions for Electrical Charge and Electrical Current

Periods 2, 4:
-Hand out study guide
-Electricity w/s and CAPT open-ended practice (will post on Mon)

Period 6/7 (LAB):
-same as periods 2 and 4, but watch Bill Nye's Electricity too:)

Thursday, March 3 E

Remind all students about Monday's quiz

Period 1:
-Collect Electricity circuits reading and questions
-switch rooms with Theresa and do circuit building
-Write Ohm's Law on the board and discuss with respect to the circuits
-Use lab "Wired for Action" (from the Gen Sci Activity book)

Periods 2, 4, 7:
-go to Physics classroom for circuit building
-discuss Ohm's Law and complete "Wired for Action"
-do Magnetism h/o if time

(note: periods 1 and  7 still need to do Ohm's law word problems)

Tuesday, March 1 B

Periods 1, 7: finish WQ

Periods 2-4:

-Warm up w/ Schoolhouse Rock (Electricity), then Electricity PPT
-word problems (A Shocking Solution and Ohms Law ws)

Electricty WQ due by end of class on Wed!

Magnetism reading and questions due Friday 3/4
